We’re almost there. Aside from a few hiccups in the process our building permit is one step away from being approved.

Last week David and I had to tag team the city on a couple of small issues. David had to meet Elizabeth w/Site Development Plan about her concern of what she thought was a main sewer line running under our property. David met her out on the site with our survey and a little muscle to pull up the manhole lid to double verify that this was not the case. After a quick review she marker Site Development plan line item with an approved. I on the other hand, had to go to the city to fill in basic info – house height, stories, rooms quantities, etc. – Real basic stuff they probably could have gotten from the plans themselves. The city always likes to make it a little difficult for you though. Luckily my buddy Cole was in town and he dropped me off, avoiding parking fees and the overall inconvenience of driving around there.

Last step is the arborist review. Atlanta has a lot of issues regarding clearing of older trees and have gotten more strict on enforcing thus the Arborists approval in the permitting process. Ours is a piece of cake as none of our trees are over 6″ in diameter – below the limit for review. We’ll see how it goes.
